MODAS is designed to allow you to quickly and easy evaluate the performance of optical systems. It is designed to be simple to use so that it may be used without a long learning period. However, it includes powerful features that make the software useful to advanced users. This program is an analysis tool. This program will make you on optical expert. After you have run MODAS, the analysis of the optical systems will make sense to you. It is availabli as freevare - MODAS Classic (CLS) and comercial - MODAS Next Generation (NG) versions., advanced optical techniques and useful ATM programs.
Again after some delay new MODAS NG ATM update is available for all NG ATM users. The new release includes some bug fixes, minor changes and two new deisgned analyses. The most important bug fix was the impossibiliety in the matrix spot diagram to show the plots as polychromatic, i.e. when in the settings dialog the checkbox "Show Polychromatic" was checked (see the screen shots right). In the surface editor was added new menu item called ?Flip Surface?. This maybe will usseful for some users that wish to change the sign of the surface curvature. The most valuable change in this release was of course the new designed Surface Wave Aberration and Contour Wavefront Aberration, both well known from the classic version. Like all other previously designed analyses, both plotz are zoomable and the windows size can be customized and the right size help you to raech more fexibality on MODAS main window. In the next release expected for august should be designed in the new look all FFT PSF analyses and programmed since long planned Wave Aberration Combination Plot that includes Wavefront Ray Fans (Tangential and Sagittal combined with Contour Wavefront Aberrations), similar to the Spot Diagram Combination Plot.

The MODAS NG demo will introduce you to the user interface, and analysis features of the program. The demo comes with about 100 sample design files which you can open and investigate. MODAS NG demo cannot do everything that a full, licensed version can. You cannot modify most of the design data in the demo, for example you cannot change the number of surfaces, the radii, the thicknesses, or other data. Saving design files in MODAS NG is not supported. If feature or function is dissabled, a warning message or hint will be displayed. The demo version is packed to self extracting file. Simple run the exe file, browse to your destination folder or type a new, that will be automaticaly created.
